BONUS: COVID-19 With Emily Landon—A True Pandemic

We were suddenly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. I decided to shift the focus of the podcast to cover the pandemic as it was consuming all of us and started to have an impact on patients and physicians, but also on everyone in the general public. I invited Emily Landon, MD, executive medical director of infection prevention and control, University of Chicago, to break down current exposure risk and mortality rates of COVID-19, preventative steps to avoid exposure, and promising therapies on the horizon.

Emily stated that this was a pandemic on this episode almost 2 weeks before The WHO admitted that we are dealing with one. I was fortunate to win an award for this episode. It was a communication award of distinction. I am humbled to win any kind of award, but grateful to Dr. Landon for this one.
